Poem No. 1 - October 22, 1997

The wind whistles a tune through the trees
Kites dance to the rhythm as they please
Swaying to and fro, joyfully as they go
Like the group of children playing down below

The birds swoop waltzing with windswept wings
As I view this beauty my heart sings
Praise to God the Father and the Son
And all creation boasts of what He's done

Poem No. 2 - November 14, 1997

Friendship is a sheltering tree
Keeping watch of those below
Like the everlasting arms of God
Strong and ready to give us aid
Faithful and loyal in times of need
As a covering shade from burning heat
Satan's evil works, it shall impede
The roots of godly friends go deep

Poem No. 3

The sun reflects the glory of God
Yet its light is but a tiny beam compared
To the endless radiance of His infinite grace
A grace that shines in the darkest night
Touching and healing those who seek His face
Timeless gift, spinning web of life eternal
As it glows with the glory of God
Jesus is the Sun of our righteousness

Poem No. 4

Sometimes I wonder why God still loves me
Digging out from under a sinful life
I've nothing to give Him but my sinsick ego
My unhappiness, my doubts and all my strife

But God's infinite grace is unchanging
His promises are sure and true
He is for us and not against us
We can count on Him to pull us through

Hold on to this Hope eternal
Lay your sin and it's chains at His feet
Then you will have peace unconditional
Lead not the brimstone life infernal

Poem No. 5

The gentle loving hands of my Savior mold me
Into the beautiful image of my Creator
Forgiving me, cleansing me, restoring me, chastening me

The active living words of my Savior encourage me
To serve Him with my entire heart and mind
Feeding me, healing me, leading me, freeing me

The gracious promises of my Savior lift me
Above the mundane cares of this earth
Supporting me, inspiring me, encouraging me, challenging me

Poem No. 6

How much longer do I have to wait upon this earth
Before my precious Lord returns to take me home
My heart yearns to see my Savior face to face
My growing anticipation is an agonizing burn
Only leaving so that heaven will take its place
I know I must prepare and learn His ways are best
Especially to love all members of the human race
If I'll wait and do His will and work for Him today
Soon God will find in heaven for me a special place
