LIVING FAITH

ALL GOOD THINGS

All good things come from God
no matter what men say
the kindly word
the tender deed
the yearning when we pray

All good things come from God
even though times are tough
courage and strength
hope and joy
the peace that comes
thru love

All good things come thru God
He speaks to us today
the thoughts of love
the friendly hugs
are prompted
when we pray

HEARTS

It's not easy to love the ungrateful heart
That grabs with a greedy hand,
Nor easy to love a corrupt, cruel heart
That brings grief to its fellowman.
The heart that shows by its evil deeds
A selfish, lustful trait,
Is often despised by the rest of us
And left to its destined fate.
Shall we look within, though we may seem good,
At our heart's deceptive ways,
Then take a look at the heart of Christ--
In our own, let His pure light blaze?
When we see our hearts as they really are
And our Saviour's in contrast,
Then we'll love those who need our love,
For we'll understand at last.

HIS VESSEL

Though I'm made from common sod,
Moisture and of dust,
Yet to my ever loving God
I'm a child of preciousness.

He wants the fulness of my heart,
He longs to change my way,
To bring me back when I depart
And self leads me astray.

He gives me some ability,
And all else that I own,
To use only for His glory.
He can melt this heart of stone.

He says to seek Him first of all
And obey His each command.
He will hear me when I call,
His will I'll understand.

I must live each day apart
And lay plans at His feet,
For God only knows my heart
And what each day I'll meet.

My plans may not be always His.
My way may miss the mark.
Each hour of each day I live
God's will I must embark.

I long to understand His will,
To forsake the selfish goal,
To hour by hour let Him fill,
O'er flow my waiting soul.

IF WE LIVE TO BLESS OTHERS

Have sympathy for another who's hurting,
Empathize with the way that they feel,
Be free with your kindness and comfort,
And share your heartfelt ideals.

Be generous with those who may need you,
Give love where pure love is gone.
Tenderness and patience are needed,
And often a comforting song.

Sometimes you may be downhearted,
Or feel like the world is so cruel,
But if you'll rise and help others
And follow the old "golden rule,"

Life will be better by serving
The needs of your poor fellowman.
For blessings will attend those who follow
Such a wonderful, God-given plan.

You see, we were made to serve others,
To find our happiness there,
And if we live to bless others
In time we'll have our full share.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS

His eyes are on His children
Who struggle in this world.
He sees their every heartache,
When Satan's darts are hurled.

If their eyes are fixed on heaven,
Through faith they cling to Him,
He hears their prayers and groanings,
Their sorrow for their sin.

He understands their weakness,
And longs to give His grace,
To fill each need and longing,
In them His image trace.

This world has nothing for them,
For brief this life will be.
They keep their eyes on heaven,
Where they spend eternity.

While they look to Jesus,
Hope fills up each heart,
For they know He's coming,
And never will depart.

So those who look to Jesus,
While in this weary place,
Will shout for joy in heaven
When they see His loving face.
