Harold Avery Minter Born and raised in Kellogg, Douglas County, Oregon. Was a Baptist Minister for many years. Then retired from the ministry and become a locomotive engineer. Through the years he become a family historian. Writing a book "Umpqua Valley Oregon" a history of Douglas County, Oregon and the people who settled it. He also developed the genealogy of the "Minter and Powell Families" His genealogy records were passed on to me, along with many documents which add color to the family history. He spent many hours through the years interviewing people and recording their conversations on tape. In later years he spent a great deal of time working in his garden. He edured several surgeries, hip replacements and others. Many times he worked his garden on hands and knees because it was too painfull to stand. He was an amature fiddler and passed many hours playing the violin. Most of his research records are now in the the keeping of the
Douglas County Museum. He was insturmental in placeing his mothers spinning wheel in the museum. I being the person delivering it to them on his behalf.

He married twice. He married Louise Jane Fosnaugh. He married Sarah
Elizabeth Larkin in Roseburg Or., May 17, 1913. Sarah died.(27)
