She married Melvin Johns in Newport Ohio, 1930. Melvin was born October 27, 1907 in Hamilton Ohio.

Helen Mcdowell and Melvin Johns had the following children:

1876 i. Helen Pauline⁹ Johns. She married Robert Lawrence.

1877 ii. Theodore Raymond Johns. He married Patrica Carder.

1878 iii. William Louis Johns. He married Judith Theobald.

1879 iv. Elizabeth Ann Johns. She married Richard Weisenberger.

1880 v. Gerald Johns. He married Jean Theobald.

1881 vi. Glenn Francis Johns. He married Constance Feota.

1882 vii. Donna Carol Johns. She married John Weisenberger.
