England about ~1690 thru a VA port and left for SC a short time after arriving
He appears to be related to the early Daugherty's in Charlotte & Sumner SC
He sold land to son Wm in Cedar Swamp, Bototour Co VA in 1773. He lived
mostly in Charlestown SC It also appears he had a wife in SC & another in TN
at the same time. A second explaination for this and the fact that he would
have had an unusally long life for this era is that he and another Cornelius (a
son?) both lived and engaged in the same business in the same area. At least
one reference is made in land deed in Bototour Co to Cornelius Jr

Porter Daugherty(~1750) home in Morgan Co TN 1820 - 1830. Some
researchers believe Rachel was Daniel’s mother. Most researchers believe
Daniel is the Son of Solomon Sr(~1775) who was the first male Daugherty in
the Morgan/Scott/Anderson area. Most researchers believe that
Rachel(1750) is Solomon Sr's mother.
