STOTLAR FAMILY

This is a line in Belmont County, Ohio, that we have not been able to trace.   We would appreciate any help or ideas.

Various early spellings include:
Stadler, Statler, Stetler, Stotler, Stutler

The earliest known ancestor for the Stotlar line is:
Henry Stotlar.
His tombstone gives his birthdate as 1774. The 1850 census states birthplace as Virginia.
Henry's wife was Mary (maiden name unknown) and they had at least two children:
  1. Mary born about 1801 in Virginia who married Jonathan Cash in 1822. She died 1854 and is buried at Belmont Ridge M.E. Cemetery in Belmont Co, Ohio.
  2. Nancy born 21 Sep 1817 in Ohio. She married George VanFossen on 22 Sep 1838 in Belmont County. She died 17 Oct 1861 and is buried at Sewellsville M.E. Cemetery in Belmont Co, Ohio.
There were probably other children but I have not been able to find them. One possibility would be Susanna who married Gustaves Brown in Belmont County.
