VANFOSSEN FAMILY

Various early spellings include:
Vanfenson, Vanfosen, VanFussen, Vanversen, VanVossen.

The earliest known ancestor for the VanFossen line is:
Arnold VanVossen of Holland. He and wife Mary had the following children:

  1. Sibella - born 1688 - married Jacob Zimmerman/Timberman.
  2. Marieke
  3. John - married Elizabeth Bon. In 1729, John was living on a farm in Skippack, PA.
  4. Arnold Jr. - married in Philadelphia Co, Elizabeth Sellen.
  5. Conrad - married Ankin (Ann) Bon, daughter of Peter & Elizabeth Op de Graef Bon.
  6. Leonard - married Margaret and had four children.
  7. Adam - married Catherine and had three daughters.

At least two branches of the VanFossens moved west into Belmont County, Ohio.
One was Otho who descended from Arnold Jr.
The other was Benjamin who was the grandson of Conrad. This is my direct line ancestor.
