Walking home on a crisp evening, with the aroma of hot apple pie in the air.
Fires are lit...
This is the time of year when we turn to comfort foods...like stews, roasts and soups. I'll be putting forth recipes that are conducive to the colder weather and we'll be hearing from some guest chefs! We'll also discuss some decorating ideas for Autumn. Autumn pot-pourries are wonderful with cinnamon spice aromas. Scented votives are nice to have around this time of year in hazelnut, pumpkin spice or ginger.
Contrary to popular belief these days, the Christmas season does not begin on November 1st. :o) Pay your respects to Autumn! Keep those lovely Fall decorations up until at least November 30th. Your Autumn decor can be neutral, so that it doesn't actually reflect the holidays, as much as it does the season itself.
There's plenty to celebrate in Autumn, too! In addition to Halloween, we have Ocktoberfest, Columbus Day and Thanksgiving. Not to mention, that this is a time when people are more apt to visit with one another, now that it's getting too cool for outdoor activities. Days are shorter and nights are longer,so we'll provide you with some ideas for cozy, warm evenings of intimate entertaining.
