Sweet Sweet Spirit

Have you ever asked yourself "What is my purpose in Life?"; "What is God's plan for my being on this earth?" I have asked myself those questions many times. I believe deeply in God and the power of faith and love. I don't attend church regularly like I know I should, but my faith in God and His power is everlasting. I was very fortunate to have been raised by loving parents who bestowed upon me their strong and abiding faith in our Maker.  Everyday I fail in so many ways to be the person I know I am capable of being.  It is my desire to share with you this page of "Sweet, Sweet Spirit" as a means of reaching out and spreading love and kindness.

My Sweet Angel on the left was sent to me by a very "Dear Friend" along with the "Irish Blessing" below. When I was searching for an idea for the background for this page, her lovely face kept coming back to me.   According to Webster's the four-leaf clover is suppose to bring "Good Luck to the Finder".

There was never a doubt as to the background midi I wanted for this page. It is truly "one" of my favorite Gospel Hymns. I had the musician to play it as the prelude at my daughter's wedding. A beautiful day I'll never forget! God has truly blessed us in many ways.

I hope you enjoy your journey and know that Luddy wishes each of you peace, joy, love and abiding faith always!!

...an Irish Blessing

Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad.
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.

Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue.
But don’t forget to remember
Those who have stuck by you.

Always remember to forget
The troubles that came your way.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

...a simple Prayer

So far today, God, I've done alright
I haven't gossiped, haven't lost my temper,
haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty
selfish or over-indulgent.
I'm really glad about that.
But in a few minutes, God, I'm
going to get out of bed, and
from then on I'm probably
going to need a lot more help.
Amen

...a thought to ponder

A teacher asked her pupils to tell the meaning of loving-kindness.  One little boy jumped up and said,   "Well, if I was hungry and you gave me a piece of bread, that would be kindness.   But if you put a little jam on that piece of bread, that would be loving-kindness."

...Side by Side

There's a story in India of a huge elephant and a tiny mouse who became close friends.  Everywhere they went they walked together, side by side.  One day, they came upon a long narrow bridge suspended over a deep gully.  Side by side they stepped onto the bridge and walked across.  When they stepped off on the other side, the mouse said to the elephant, "Wow, we sure made that old bridge shake!"
Daily, we walk and work side by side with our fellow-man.  Some of us have responsibilities like the elephant, while some of us are like the mouse.  Whenever and wherever we walk together, we make the ground shake, we make our presence felt.

...another point to ponder

One reason a dog has so many friends:  He wags his tail instead of his tongue....

Sweet, Sweet Spirit

There's a sweet, sweet spirit in this place,  And I know that it's the Spirit of the Lord;  There are sweet expressions on each face,   And I know they feel the presence of the Lord.  Sweet Holy Spirit, Sweet Heavenly Dove, Stay right here with us, Filling us with Your love;   And for these blessings We lift our hearts in praise,  Without a doubt we'll know that we have been revived  When we shall leave this place.
