Clarence Shelton Poston's Family

This picture was taken July 4, 1927 as Clarence Shelton Poston's family had returned to Hart County, Kentucky from California to visit his Family. Upon the family's return to CA from KY in the Spring of 1928, the family stopped by the Sangamon River, Petersburg, Menard County, Illinois, to camp for the night and little Helen sitting on the front fender in the foreground of the picture accidentally fell in the Sangamon River and drowned. Helen P. Poston's death certificate See Helen's Death Certificate states she was born September 18, 1922 and died April 23, 1928, with cause of death being accidental drowning in the Sangamon River, Petersburg, Menard County, Illinois.
