Louise (who's maiden name may have been Ludwigda Ferrage) immigrated to America in the 1870s with her husband John DeLong, a native of Belgium. Louise was a well-respected mid-wife, delivering many babies in the area between Rochester and Newark in western New York. Following in her footsteps, Louise's daughter Wilhelmina (DeLong) Bender owned and administrated a maternity hospital in Rochester, NY during the first half of the 20th century. Louise and John DeLong were divorced around the turn of the century, and she then married Louis DeNero.
Louise is buried in the Irondequoit cemetery in Irondequoit, Monroe Co., NY.
