Take some time to visit a bit of my
Hawai'i

The observatory has great pictures of our very active volcano. I've visited the crater, seen the steam rising from the ground as I walked by and I've seen the red glowing lava as it fountained. You may think it's impressive if you've seen it on television and that's true. The only thing I can tell you is that to actually be there is the most awesome experience I've ever had!
Please visit LONEWOLF, he made this wonderful applet for me!

Hula is not just something for the tourist, it truly is a part of the island culture. Hula is performed by Auntie's, by children, and grandmothers (called Tutu, not grannie!) and if you see a TV listing for the Merry Monarch Hula Festival...turn on the VCR!

Aloha Tower may seem dwarfed by the newer business buildings in downtown Honolulu, but it still brings back memories of the 'boat days' of the past. Before the days of jet planes visitors arrived by ship at this pier. Imagine stepping off the ship and being greeted by the smell of tropical flowers, slack key guitar music, and having a lei of flowers to greet you!

At this lovely site you can learn the real Hawaiian language.

Herb Kawainui is one of my favorite local artists. The colors are vivid and intense and he captures the spirit of Hawai'i.
