I used to be interested primarily in chess, music and computers;
(say, if you've ever wanted to learn to play chess - bookmark this site)

Barb used to read a lot(when not working), and we would travel to one of our favorite places, when our time allowed, and our three cats didn't demand our attention

We also have two older daughters (mine) and an older son (hers), who've grown & gone. Our jobs are secure, our house is in good shape, our remaining daughter is getting more independent - life was pretty good, I'd say.

What's changed?!

I'll give you a hint...

THIS happened!

We began this Web page about halfway into the process of adopting a seventh member into our family - a little Chinese girl named

GUO HONG JUAN

- From Guixi, Jiangxi Province, China

When we got her, in August 1998,

she was 21 months old, 17 pounds soaking wet, and couldn't walk unaided.

Before we even got on the plane to go home,

she was making up for lost time!

A month later,

- well, see for yourself!

And by the time she was two,

look what she can do!

We want to tell you about

this darling child

we brought home from across the world,

and how she has changed our lives.
