MEET THE TEAM[Russ & Tracy Pennington]
Dear Friends and Family,
Here are some updates on our mission work here in Bangkok:Spirit House
Our cell group has been meeting in one of the houses of our members named Peng. Peng's husband is not a Christian. The house they live in had a Chinese Spirit House in the living room. A spirit house is a small, red wooden dollike house that they place offerings of food, drink and incense in daily. Chinese Buddhists believe that the spirit of that house will protect them from evil and bad luck. Some time ago I spoke to Peng about the spirit house and removing it. She said that she could not because it would anger her husband's parents.
Recently while praying with one of our new Christians in our cell group we both felt led to pray to ask God to remove the idols in Peng's home. Later that day I spoke to Peng on the phone about this and she said that she would speak to her husband. Well, he agreed! The next evening at our our cell group we had a special time of worship and prayer and we threw out the spirit house. We praise God for this victory.
"..they tell how you turned to God from idols,
to serve the living and true God.
-- I Thess. 1:9

him, and his righteousness with their children's children -- with those who
keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. Psalm 103:17-18 |
