Sunday Brunch then On to Denali

Sunday, the lady who cooks couldn't say what time the brunch would be, because she waits for a call from Jeanie. Consequently, we ended up eating at noon. Bob and Barbara had to leave as they had scheduled a plane flight and stay at Talkeetna. Also the Loudens left early because they were to visit relatives at Wasilla on the way to Denali. We started the brunch when Jan and Jeanie arrived. It was very good and worth the wait. We were even given the choice of OJ or Mimosa.

We Left about 1 for the 4 hour trip to Perch Cabins.

The next day we checked out the visitor center at Denali Park. Jane and Fred took the bus to where the sled dogs are kept. Denali does not allow snowmobiles and uses dog sleds. We looked at the dogs in their pens and the rangers gave a demo of hooking up the dogs (five of them) to a sled and then pulling it around a circular dirt road. The dogs loved this.

Pat the boldest and not as cheap as the others in the group took a plane ride in hopes of seeing Mt. McKinley. However it was a little cloudy and she didn't get a good view. We all enjoyed watching the video she took at the Pizza place. They allowed us to use their TV.
