Here is a photograph of Lago di Vico in the sunset. The lake is 1500 feet of elevation and its surface is about 8 square miles. Water depth is 150 feet. As I already told you it is a volcanic lake, like many others in our region Lazio. It is 10,000 years old and occupies an old Vulcan crater. The legend tells it was created by Hercules, Jupiter's son. Wondering in the world during his twelve labors Hercules passed through this country where he met a people of giants who assumed to be the strongest in the world. Hercules wanted to the demonstrate to be stronger than them. So there was a challenge: a huge club was driven in the ground by the giants.Hercules eradicated it easily. Afterwards Hercules drove a new club in the ground, no giant succeeded in eradicating it; so Hercules did it by himself he succeeded but a spring of water come out from the ground in the place where the club was driven. Il lago di Vico nacque cosė.So the lake was born. And so I become a tales teller.
