2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter (not margarine)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup finely chopped nuts
1 cup chocolate chips
Sift together dry ingredients. Cream butter and shortening with sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy. Gradually stir in flour mixture; stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
