Welcome to Heartbeat's Childhood Disorders!
Coping with the pressures of raising a family these days can be difficult enough. And then, one day, a special child comes into your life - perhaps he is terribly ill, or she needs constant care. Even with family and friends to help, parents can feel lost and alone. Thankfully, the Internet is proving an excellent resource - parents can reach out to each other any time of the night or day, and find solutions to problems, friends to lean on, and, most importantly, hope. Together, families with special needs children can learn to find the joy in the simplest things. It is our hope to provide our visitors with the most up-to-date resources and information pertaining to Childhood Disorders.

Heartland Showcase

ODD Research Paper
A college student shares her research paper on ODD and provides links, resource list, and organizations.

Deafblind Children
This site provides a brief story of the children and their disabilities. Links, chat line, and mail list are also offered.

Manitoba Down Syndrome Society
In keeping with our goals and objectives, the M.D.S.S. Home Page has been established so that we may continue to broaden public awareness of Down Syndrome. If you like what you see and would like to support this organization, consider becoming a member.

Young ADD and ADHD People Matter
This site is put together by a teenager who has been labeled as ADHD, slight autism, and Symantic Pragmatic Disorder. Gives an interesting view from the teenager's side instead of the parents.

KidPower Family Support Resource
This site is worth repeating because of the amount of information given to families with disabled children. This site is a prior Heartbeat Award winner.

Bits of Betsy (Paige)
This mom tells her story about her second-born daughter and Downs Syndrome in a way that reaches out to parents and others about the effects on the family as a whole.
