Christian Grandparenting
Grandparents have an important role to fill! Especially today in this society where values are non-existent. Grandparents can play a pivotal role in the lives of their children and their grandchildren. It is their good Christian example above all else which sets the standards for them to follow.

GrandParenting Factoid

In 1900, the life expectancy of U.S. residents was 47 years old; by 1994, it had risen to 75.6 and goes ahead the path to 80(Schewe & Meredith 1994). Therefore, aging is now being experienced by more people for a longer period of time than ever before. In 1994, 34% of the U.S. population were classified as elderly. That means, 65 million people were 50 and over (Orr 1994). After 1996, the size of the over-50 population is expected to grow tremendously since the boomers have started to join the age group. By the year 2010, this age group will bulk to 97 million. This represents an increase of 48%, compared to just 1% of the total under-50 population(Orr 1994). According to U.S. Census Bureau data (Morrall 1995), those 50 and older will increase to 74% by the year of 2020. In 2025, the over-50 population will climb to 113 million, which will represent half of the U.S. population (Sloan, 1994).
The fastest growing sub-segment of the elderly population is the over 85 age group. By 2030, the 85+ age group is estimated to surge to 8.6 million, which would be approximately 13% of the population (AARP, 1990).

Research Paper 1
Even though people tend to determine age chronologically, many cultures do define the concept "old age" differently based on many other criteria, such as physical change, loss of certain abilities, or change in social roles. Even in the same society, the definition of elderly can vary from time to time
