What happens during a treatment?
During a treatment you can either sit or lie down and you remain fully clothed while the practitioner places their hands over or on the body The treatment lasts for about an hour, during which time the practitioner employs the 12 basic hand postitions each lasting about five minutes.
The client may feel a tingling sensation or feelings of heat or cold. Of the 12 hand positions, four are on the head which focus on the brain and the spine, four are on the front of the body to energise the organs and four are on the back, to relax muscles.
Wherever the ailment lies, treatment is given to the whole body so that all the chakras, or energy centres can be balanced. After a treatment you will be relaxed and have a tremendous feeling of well being. Reiki can also be practiced through absent healing by visualising the transfer of energy. |
