Here are some simple
instructions for creating your gel candles from the
kits that we sell.
If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to
contact us. Also,
we will be happy to make recommendations on tools and equipment that will make
your candle making experience easier and more enjoyable.
-
Break gel into smaller
pieces and place in pan and heat.
-
Heat gel to 250°. Do
not let get above 250°. You can monitor the temperature with a candy
thermometer.
-
Straighten wick with
your fingers, then wrap around a pencil or something similar to keep it in
place over the container.
-
Add sand to weigh down
wick.
-
Place embed about 1
in. away from the wick.
-
When temperature of
gel reaches 250° turn the heat off and let cool to about 220°.
-
When the temperature
cools to 220° you can add the fragrance.
STIR SLOWLY FOR AT LEAST TWO MINUTES.
Do not mix with anything wooden, this will cause excess bubbles.
You can use metal knitting needles or something with a small circumference
that is metal or plastic.
-
If you use something
with a pour spout on it the gel will be easier to pour. Pour the gel
slowly into the container.
Note: The gel takes a while to melt completely. Be patient and
don’t give up. If you use anything besides the embed provided be sure
that it is not flammable. You can also set the finished product out into
the sun to help with fewer bubbles.
