We were on a six hour cruise. Just the two of us in the middle of a dance floor. All 200 eyes were on us. With the microphone shaking, I attempt to open the ring box. Someone in the background yells out "Don't do it man!" another yells out "Get on your knee!" to that one I responded "How about I get on both knees?" "Woohoo!" is all you hear.
As I open the box and pull out the two piece ring, all you could hear is "ching, cling, ping!" I can't believe this is happening to me. Here I am sliding on my knees to get the ring from wherever it went. Throughout all this time she's standing there crying with her hands on her face in amazement. After recuperating, I nervously utter the
words "Will you marry me?"
I had planned the evening several months earlier. We had already been together for 3 years. What's real funny is that I was more nervous of the crowd than I was of being with her the rest of my life. This was the stepping stone that proved I will go the extra mile, nervous or not, for my angel. We had been through alot and there was more to come.
Somehow a monkeywrench always ends up thrown in the gears. As a wiseman once told me "Be like water! It doesn't matter what contains it, water will always take the shape!"
