In the year of 1991 the Helician band was established by Murat and Firat YILMAZ brothers. The players were: Murat and Firat brothers as guitars, Sancar SÖNMEZ as Bass guitar, and Sertaç DURMAZ as drums.

Over the past 8 years the band has been through a lot of change of staff. At the moment the band is as follows: The guitars are Murat YILMAZ and Asil MUMCU; Volkan GAZILER as bass guitar, Serataç DURMAZ as drums, Gökmen DOGANAY as keyboards and Fatih KORKMAZ as vocals.

The band made a total of 3 university concerts and 4 saloon concerts and then in 1996 they joined into 2 contests; one of these was in Istanbul on the first of the Roxy Music Days. They came 4th out of 106 bands. The second concert was in Ankara in the same year. This one was The Tuborg Rock Festival. They also did well here. The album that the group recorded in 1998 is in a short period of time going to be in The Turkish & World Rock Lovers.

"Helician" means: In Ancient Greece, a nation on Rodos island in which belived that by making music they could be free from their wickedness. There was a statue which was 53m tall and made of bronze. It is also the 8th wonder of the world. It is still known in Rodos, but it’s deep in seawater. Nobody knows how it got to the position that it is at the present.
