Project Description: This software is being used effectively from the last about one year by the faculty members and the students of the NITK and found to be quite useful. I presented this software in National level technical fest Cognizance-07 at IIT Roorkee and got overall 4th position. This website has 4 modules (separate user interface for each) " Administrator ", " HOD ", " Faculty " and " Student ".

There are so-many features in this website; the main features are as follows------

(i) Faculty can keep record of student performance and award grades which are visible to students.

(ii)Student can see marks of their papers, notices from their teachers and respective HOD.

(iii) A very good messaging service among students, faculty, hods and administrator. Also a facility to send public or private message.

(iv) There is a facility to create discussion topic for discussion, chatting.

(v) Faculty, hods, administrator and CR can upload file and write in Notice board

(vi) Online chatting between students.

NITK- Placement Automaton Software:-

Project Description:

This software is actively being used by T&P department and students. It has following features such as--

(i) Generate resumes of students in PDF format.

(ii) Acts as an information hub of companies where information regarding companies can be obtained by students through extremely flexible requests forms.

(iii)Can process data regarding students under various constraints (all simultaneously) and then generate the rank list which can contain more than 60 attributes of the student.

(iv) Other features such as common message board, flash news, notice board, current placement details, previous year placement detail etc... are also present.

(v) Linked with CMT website (http://cmt.nitk.ac.in). CMT acts as a centralized website for checking id/password of placement website. Student record of placement website initially comes from CMT at the time of registration.

Techsouls Community website:-

Project Description: This aims to provide a common platform for people (Industry and Academia) to discuss and get excited about the future of science and technology. Through Techsouls Community, we are exploring a new and exciting way of education - Collaborative Learning. In Techsouls Community, you can manage your resources online and carry on technology discussions with people from all around the globe.

Project Type: Web based application ( Dummy project ) Tools / Platform : Visual InterDev, ASP, MS Access, HTML, JavaScript. Project Description: This website has the facility to send and receive E-mails, information about movies, television, weather, city information, view picture, chat with another user, download software and games etc.

Other Projects:-

•  Banking Software in C. •  Developed graphics Editor as computer graphics project in C. •  Developed LAN Chatting Software using VB 6. •  Developed utilities like - Change Drive Icon, Drives Security, IE Skin Changer, Shuffle game, Proxy Server in VB 6. •  Developed my own website www.oocities.org/hemant_prasad. Some of my projects are available in my website for helping other students.

Extra Curricular Activities

•  Represented the college in the following technical fests: 1. IIT Roorkee (Cognizance 07) 2. MKU Madurai (Asterix 06) 3. NITTE (Semaphore 07) 4. MIT Manipal (Techno Melange 07) •  Team stood first at MIT Manipal and second at NITTE. •  Won 1st prize in 'Programming Contest' at MIT Manipal •  Won 1st prize in 'Guess- Mania' at NITTE. •  Won 2nd prize in 'Web Designing' at MKU Madurai. •  Won 2nd prize in 'Web Designing' at MIT Manipal •  Won 2nd prize in 'Virtual Sanity' at MIT Manipal •  Presented "CMT- course management tool" web based application in National level technical fest at IIT Roorkee and got overall 4th position. •  Got 4th position (final) in " debugging contest- Bug reaper " in C and C++ at National level technical fest IIT Roorkee Cognizance-07. •  Developed and maintaining the CMT (Course Management Tool) software for NITK. •  Developed and maintaining the training & placement automation software for 2 consecutive years 2006-07 & 2007-08.

Experience

•  I have 2yr experience in working with PHP/MYSQL. I have developed 3 live projects (web based application) in PHP/MYSQL which are successful and currently being used by the organization. •  Currently I am pursuing my 6-month project in McAfee, Bangalore .
