Our mission is to bring gay, lesbian, straight, bisexual, transgendered and questioning students, faculty, and staff together to work against homophobia, sexism and all types of prejudice while promoting tolerance and understanding. We will provide an environment where students can socialize and discuss whatever they want, so as to learn more about themselves and become more comfortable with sexuality as they have to deal with it in the world today. The Henderson Safespace is a center of information for all students.

BECAUSE HOW WE ACT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHO WE ARE... AND IF WE HAVE AIDS WE DESERVE IT... IF WE STAND UP FOR OUR RIGHTS WE'RE OVERSTEPPING OUR BOUNDARIES...BECAUSE HOMOPHOBIA IS SANCTIONED BY THE SUPREME COURT...Click here to read full version...

Updates!

NOTE THAT WE ARE NOW MEETING ON MONDAYS FROM 2:30-3:30 IN ROOM 108/109. OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE DECEMBER 3, 2001.
Hey all! We are right in the middle of the holiday season! There is so much to do! We are coming up with so many great ideas. How does a field trip to one of the largest gay and lesbian book stores sound? Yup, we are working it all out. Check out www.giovannisroom.com Our last meeting of '01 is December 17th. We're gonna have cookies! Yum! Come here to the Virtual Safespace, and we are sure that you will turly appreciate all of the work that has gone into it. Another addition to the Virtual Safespace is the White Ribbon Campaign. This campaign was started to raise awareness about the epidemic of GLBT teen suicide. It is estimated that a teen in the United States takes his or her won life every 5 house because he or she is gay, lasbian, bisexual, or transgender, and can not deal with the added stresses that society puts upon them. Be sure to click on the white ribbon found below for more information.

"This site is dedicated to the memory of the many who died to young, and to their loved ones."
