1/2 cup light oil (your choice of olive, walnut, etc.)
1/2 cup rose water
red and green food coloring
Use a clear bottle with a tight fitting lid. Pour oil into bottle
and add 1-2 drops green food coloring. Shake gently until the oil
is lightly colored. Ina separate container mix the rosewater with
1-2 drops red coloring. Pour the colored water into the bottle
with the oil.The oil will float to the top.
To use: Shake gently to mix water and oil. It will separate again
when left to sit.
Makes 8 ounces.
1 box Epsom Salts
scented oil
food coloring
Pour the salts into a bowl and pick out any discolored ones. Add 1-2
drops scented oil, and stir until mixed throughout. Add 1-2 drops
food color and mix well. Spreads on a tray to dry.
Variations-
Candy Cane Bath Salts
Use peppermint extract to scent the epsom salts. Color one half of
salts with red food coloring. Layer the red and white salts in a
decorative jar.
Bubbling Bath Salts
Use rose scented oil and red food coloring (just enough to make salts pink).
Add 1/3 cup powdered Mr. Bubble to each 1 cup salts. Stir gently.
Christmas Spice Bath Salts
1/2 cup Epsom salts
1/2 cup baking soda
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cloves
Combine all ingredients in a glass jar.
To use: pour 2 Tbsp. mix under running water.
