Christmas Party ideas

Christmas is the perfect time for children's parties! Here are a few ideas to get you started.

• Guess how many ornaments are on the tree? the child with the closest guess wins a prize.
• Decorate with red and green paper chains that the children can help make. (A good opening activity.)
• Candy cane hunt... Hide one candy cane for each child, plus a few extras to make sure everyone finds one. Play inside or out, depending on the weather.
• Give kids spray bottles filled with colored water(add a drop of food coloring) and let them paint the snow, write their names, etc.
• Make mini gingerbread houses.

For treat bags use inexpensive felt stockings bought at a discount store. These can be decorated by the children with puff paints. Fill with:

• gingerbread men
• candy canes
• X-mas tree ornaments made at the party
• hot cocoa and small ziplock bags filled with mini-marshmallows

Make a batch of sugar cookies, then give the children colored frostings, sugars, and sprinkles and let them decorate their own snack. You can serve warm cider or hot cocoa. Give them cinnamon sticks for stirring the cider or candy canes for stirring the cocoa.
