~*NEW! Book 5 will be called "Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix"!
~*NEW from Emma! I heard that in the 5th book, you will find out about
the Ravenclaw ghost, the "Red Lady" or something.
~*NEW! Readers will discover why Harry returns to the dreadful Dursleys each summer. And Rowling has also revealed that Ginny Weasley -- the younger sister of Harry's best friend Ron, who's had a crush on Harry for the first four books -- will play a bigger role in Book Five.

BOOK SIX
~*NEW from Brittany: "Book 6 will be called 'Harry Potter and the Green Flame Torch'. Voldemort kills Harry but Ron finds a torch which kills evil and brings back good, but it only light once every 10 years. It is alight, so Ron kills Voldemort with it, and brings Harry back to life."
~*From a fan: "In book six the real truth will be told about Lily Potter, and it might have something to do with Lord Voldemort."

BOOK SEVEN
~*When asked in an online chat why some wizards become ghosts and some don't, JKR replied: "You don't really find that out until book VII, but I can say that the happiest people do not become ghosts. As you might guess, Moaning Myrtle!"
~*NEW! J.K. Rowling has written the climax of the final book in the HP series. She refuses to disclose the details of the conclusion and will only say she wrote the last chapter of Book Seven as "an act of faith," to show herself that she really will get there in the end.

MISCELLANEOUS
~*NEW! JKR will be writing two short books to raise money for charity. "Quidditch Throught the Ages" and "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" are expected to be out in March of this year.
~*NEW! The Ravenclaw Ghost is the "Grey Lady" and the Head of House is Prof. Flitwick!
~*JKR has said that she will be killing some of the popular characters in future books! She says also that the tone of the books will become darker and scarier.
~*What James and Lily Potter did for a living before their death is important for the future plot.
~*JKR has the titles for all seven of the Harry Potter books: one for each of Harry's years at Hogwarts.
~*Scabbers (Peter Pettigrew) will return!
~*JKR has said that Marcus Flint, captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team, was held back a year, which is why he has been in the 7th year twice.
~*JKR says that the reason gnomes are bad (i.e. the de-gnoming at the Burrow) is because: "Gnomes eat the roots of your plants, and make little heaps of earth like moles. They are also a bit of a giveaway that wizards live in a house."
~*The wizard prison, Azkaban, is in the north of the North Sea.
~*Sirius and Buckbeak went into hiding in someplace warm!
~*In Hogwarts there is a magical quill which detects the birth of a magical child and writes his or her name down in a large parchment book. Every year Professor McGonagall checks the book and sends owls to the people who are turning 11.
~*The reason Professor Dumbledore likes sherbert lemons is because JKR does!
~*Hogwarts is located in Scotland.
~*We will meet a girl named Icicle in a future book!
~*Harry's middle name is James, after his father.
~*Professor Lupin is JKR's favourite character!
~*Aragog and Mr. Weasley's flying car will return!
~*The fact that Harry has his mother's eyes will be very important in a future book.

THE MOVIE
~*Chris Columbus will direct the Harry Potter movie, after Steven Speilberg cut out because of "creative differences" with JKR. Production is said to begin this summer and the release is November 16, 2001.
~*The Official Harry Potter Movie Site from Warner Brothers is now up!
~*The script writer for the movie will be American Steve Kloves, but JKR will have the final say.
~*Gloucester Cathedral has been "cast" as Hogwarts!
~*Rumor has it that several big shots are looking for a part in the Hp film. Tim Roth is opting for Professor Snape, Maggie Smith may play Prof. McGonagall, Rosie O'Donnell would like to play Mrs. Weasley, Robbie Coltrane is trying for Hagrid, and young actor and dancer Jamie Bell is going for Harry.
~*The three main roles in the HP movie have been cast! Daniel Radcliffe will play Harry; Rupert Grint will play Ron; and Hermione will be played by Emma Watson. For the full story, go the the WB site here!
~*NEW! Actor John Cleese (who played Monty Python) will play Nearly Headless Nick in the HP movie.

MERCHANDISE
~*Harry Potter toys will come out in fall 2000 and will be manufactured by Mattel and Hasbro. Mattel will make action figures, dolls, games, and high-tech "gadgets", while Hasbro has its eye on trading cards, role playing games, candy, and youth electronics. ~*Warner Bros. has also bought the right to produce HP toys! Look for them soon!
~*There may be an HP theme park!!!
~*Celebrity Bears has put out an HP beanie baby! The bear has a scar on his forehead, wears a pointed hat, and has an owl on a broomstick embroidered on the front! It is not called Harry Potter, but it makes indescreet references to Harry, and it IS NOT endorsed by JK Rowling.

DISPUTES
~*Harry Potter was banned from St. Mary's Island Church of England Aided School in Chatham! A Church of England spokesman said he had read all three. "We love the little devil. We are not in the business of censoring books. However, schools set their own policies and we never interfere with what they do."
