HOGWARTS STUDENT EXPELLED |
A Hogwarts student was expelled yesterday for the use of two spells at a Muggle restaurant. The student (whose name is being held because of age) was fed up with the waiter, whom he deemed "slow and slug-like". Out of impatience, he used a Hover Charm to make a lavishly decorated wedding cake flaot into the air and then crash on the bride's head! The bride was unconcious and taken to the hospital, where she is in stable condition. Furthermore, the student then used the full Body-Bind to immobilize the waiter! Unfortunately, the restaurant was full because of the wedding, and Memory Charms were being perfomed well into the night after the Ministry of Magic had taken statements from the patrons. The student's mother told reporters, "My boy is as good as anything! It's that waiter's fault! My poor little pumpkin never would have been aggravated if the waiter had been a good one!" She also told us that her son would be transferring to another school, but would not give the name. Headmaster Albus Dumbledore said that the boy was a fair student in school but that he had heard of his reputation outside of classes. |
HOGWARTS EXPRESS BREAKS DOWN |
The Hogwarts Express, carrying hundreds of students, broke down last week. The train left from King's Cross at eleven, as scheduled, but halfway to Hogwarts, began to slow. The train eventually stopped. It took the conductor an hour to find the problem and another hour to fix it. The train arrived at Hogwarts at 9 PM instead of 7 PM and the Sorting Ceremony was greatly delayed. |
KNIGHT BUS PICKS UP FUGITIVE |
The Knight Bus, transportation for the stranded wizard, picked up a criminal last week. Mungdungus Fletcher, wanted for thievery, has been on the run ever since he was seen breaking into the Apothecary. The next morning, several unicorn horns were reported missing. Ministry officials called at Fletcher's house but he wasn't home. He hadn't been seen since, until the Knight Bus picked him up. Fletcher was disguised as an old woman, and was shown to a bed, where he fell asleep. While the bus was switching from Abergaveny to London, a jolt caused Fletcher to tumble out of bed and his wig to fall off. Driver Ernie Prang stopped the bus and sent an owl to the Ministry while conductor Stan Shunpike held Fletcher down. Fletcher has been found guilty of theivery and was sentenced to 2 weeks in Azkaban, and all the goods were recovered. |
NEW BROOM TO BE PRODUCED |
FlyHi Inc. has announced it's plans for a new broom. The broom will follow the Firebolt's design, with a few changes in materials. FlyHi spokesperson Al Weild says, "Extensive research has shown that poplar branches are the lightest and therefore best type of wood to use in a broom. The tail twigs will be made of willow, and hewn to exact aerodynamic perfection." The broom is to be called the Streak 360 and will come out early next year. |
QUIDDITCH REPORT |
The latest Quidditch match-up was the Hogsmeade Hunters against the Didsbury Dragons on Monday. The game was a close one, with the Dragons taking the early lead. Both teams had 50 points at the half. After the half the Dragons turned up the heat, and scored five times in three minutes. They didn't stop there, and the score was 130-50 before the Hunters called a time-out. After the time-out the Hunters seemed more focused, but the Dragons continued to score. Just as the Dragon's chaser Sara Crass was going in to make the score 170-70, the Hunter's seeker went into a fantastic dive! The Dragon's seeker tried in vain to catch up, and Crass caught the Snitch to give the Hunters a 220-170 win over the Dragons. Our reporter spoke to the Dragon's captain, who said, "What bull! The Snitch shouldn't be worth that much! We had them desperate, and we coulda won if the Snitch hadn't been caught so soon!" This win for the Hunters moves them into 3rd and the Dragons still sit in 1st. |
