Daz Dillinger - R.A.W.
Reviewed By: Techniq
- Intro, of "Super Cuz" talking shit and threatening, nothing special, recorded over
the phone. x/10
- Just a newsreader talking about gang violence over a dope beat. x/10
- The first real song of the CD, start in with gunshots with Daz talking and the beat
drops in. Daz does the hook and it includes the trademark squeaky DPG voice that Snoop
and Kurupt have used also. Ok track. 7/10
- A good song, but a little too slow for my taste. Starts out with gunshots and a slow
beat drops in while Daz is talking. After 30 seconds of this, Daz's first verse drops.
Nothing special on this track. 5/10
- This song features fellow LBC rapper Lil C-Style, with his trademark laid back gangsta
style, comes in wit a laid-back gangsta beat for Daz and Lil Style to rip to. This
song is also featured Daz Dillinger & JT The Bigga Figga - From Long Beach 2 Fillmoe.
8/10
- Starts out with Mac-Shawn knocking at Daz's door looking to buy drugs. Daz drops his
verse after about 25 seconds. He raps about not knowing who may not be at his door,
whether it may be a customer, someone coming to blast him, a homie, or the feds. I'm
feelin' it. 8/10
- This probably has to be one of my favorite songs on this CD. Song starts straight wit
a dope beat, no bullshit talking, from when the song starts till ends it's dope. Daz
drops fast-paced flow through out the whole song, there's no real down point in this
song. 9/10
- Mac-Shawn starts off the track talking for awhile, then lets Daz begin the first verse
of the song. This song is alright, it could be a lot better or a lot worse. It's not
bad, I'm just not feeling it. It's also on Mac-Shawn's compilation "Worldwide Bosses &
Playas." 6/10
- Song begins with a heavy bass line and continues throughout the song. Kurupt is
featured in the chorus and various other parts in the song but doesn't rap. Like
above, the song is alright, it has a dope beat, but the lyrics could use some work.
6/10
- Here's a song that has seen it's use on a few albums... is also on "Dogg Pound 2002"
and Kurupt's "Space Boogie Smoke Oddessey."3. A laid-back beat that you could juss
chill to n be str8. I'm really feeling this song a lot, Kurupt comes dope as well.
It's juss the correlation that Daz n Kurupt have, ugh, I know you feelin that word!
9/10
- Just a quick interlude with a female singing about pussy. x/10
- The sequel to Kurupt's "Your Girlfriend." A real upbeat song that Daz, Mac-Shawn, and
Soopafly use to explain some of their sexual experiences. A song you definitely can't
listen to and be mad at the same time. 8/10
- Probably my favorite song on this album. A dope O.G. beat drops in wit Kurupt n Daz
talkin' back n forth before the song starts. Daz drops his dope verses, and Kurupt
drops his as well. I guess this was the single of the CD as it had a video. 9/10
- Song starts out with Daz talking while "Oh No" from his first album plays, as he talks
about jacking some fools. Beat drops in and he starts wit his slow gangsta flow, this
song was also used on Dogg Pound 2002. 8/10
- This song could be a lot better. The beat is dope and so are the lyrics, but they
don't go together that well. Slip comes dope and Daz comes alright. Would be nice to
see it wit a different beat. 7/10
- Tray Deee of Tha Eastsidaz comes dope as fuck on this song wit his O.G. flow and with
the beat, I'm feeling it. Daz comes sick too. First impression may be bad, but after
hearing it a few times, you'll see. 7/10
- This song is a Latoya Williams (formerly of Doggy's Angels) solo track, which I'm
really not feelin'. I dunno why it's on here, there's no Daz or anything. Just her
singing, definitely not needed. 3/10
- Starts out with what sounds like an oldies-type beats while Latoya sings, then the
bassline drops in and the chorus begins. It juss goes to show that although rappers
talk about pimping and "never lovin' a bitch," even gangstas fall in love. 8/10
- Str8 knocker! It was made to knock, and it sure as hell does it's job wit that deep ass
bassline. Wit the right system, this song will pound your chest so hard you'll have
problems breathing. To make it better, it's got some dope ass verses and chorus.
10/10
- Song starts out with a phone conversation then goes to Daz's first verse and then Mark
grabs the chorus. I'm feelin' this song, juss talkin' how your closest homeboy who you
thought you were down wit until the end could fuck you over, watch yo back! 9/10
- Almost the same as the intro, "Super Cuz" talking shit again. x/10
Overall this album is dope. It features the normal crew minus Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg.
One of my favorite albums, I consider it a classic, but since it did not receive a lot
of publicity and Daz is not a major name it never fully received recognition, but it
sure sold well for an independent release. Overall score: 8/10
