DPG - Dillinger & Young Gotti
Reviewed By: JstewartK707
- Young Gotti (Kurupt) and Daz start it out just talking about how it's been a long time since these two have
collaborated and they are saying how a lot people are bitches and to keep it gangsta.
- A good song to start with some of the gangsta shit that Daz and Kurupt are famous for. This seems to be the theme
for the album, but anyone who bought this knows that. Both put down good verses, the production is good and the
song is pretty catchy. It will stick with ya, good shit to start with. RBX is at the end and talking about the streets and
murder.
- Good production on this song, which Daz is good for on pretty much the whole album. Xzibit drops heat at the
beginning, Daz follows with a good one himself. Kurupt has the last verse and spits like he can and drops a good
verse. One of my favorites, but there is a lot of those on this album.
- Club banger. Probably my favorite in regards to production. If you got a good system this shit bumps good and hard.
Play it very loud. Daz and Kurupt put good verses down and this to me is West Coast, heavy bass, synthesizers and
all. Great song you won't be let down on this one.
- Good song talking about a gangsta’s best friend besides their gun, their drugs. I think they mention just about every
drug imaginable. Good song to ride to. Good production and the flows are good.
- You might recognize the drum pattern on this one. It's "How do U Want It" from 2Pac which Daz produced. This
song is talking about hoes. Alright song, but not my favorite on the album.
- Pretty short song and as you can tell by the title another one talking about sex. Not anything special, but has a lot of
bass if you got a system.
- Party song that has a pretty good beat, one a gangsta can get his walk on to. One of my favorites on the album cause
of the production and cause Daz and Kurupt go back in forth flowingl. They have a pretty good chemistry and it
shows.
- Alright song that has a pretty good beat. It’s about some sex experiences they have had with hoes. Pretty much
another song about sex, but an alright song.
- Piano in the background is cool and the production is cool on a whole. Another song about hoes. This time the girl on
the chorus is calling the shots telling them to treat her like a lady. Good song and pretty original beat like most of the
songs on the album.
- Another g’d up song talking about the streets and at night they belong to them, and they run them. Good song where
they are going back and forth. Bass on this song is good and the production is solid once again.
- Another collabo from the camps of DPG and Rocafella. G’d up for sure just like other songs on the album. They got
some help on this one from Roscoe (Kurupt’s little bro). He puts down a good verse just like Beanie Segal does. The
verse is cool, it has Daz rappin like the Dogg Pound is known for, the high pitched voice like Kurupt and Snoop have
done too. Good song, won’t want to skip this one.
- Good song about the thing going on and how it's easy for people to die in the streets. So watch your ass cause shit
happens. Good mellow beat for the Dogg Pound to spit their fire over.
- Fear stand for fuck everything and run as Slip puts it in this song and they aren’t down with it. They gangsta’s they are
willing to die in the streets and they won’t cry when it happens. Slip puts a good verse down on this one. Nice beat
good shit to ride to. This might sound crazy, but the one singin on the verse kinda sounds like Daz I’m probably
wrong, but you be the judge.
- Speakin to everyone trying to get out of the streets. Get out of the streets before it gets you. Kinda slower, but
good.
- Talking about the streets and where he fits in. Not another g’d up track, but a good one. Good mellow beat and Daz's
flow fits it well.
- Young Gotti brings heat like he usually does. Good production as usual on this one. Kurupt flows over the beat well,
as the title shows it's more gangsta rap for your ass. Good song.
- More of the production you come to expect from Daz. Just askin how many niggaz that are actually down to ride and
die if it comes down to that. More gangsta shit, but good stuff.
- Good song to get your walk on to like you couldn’t tell by the title. Production is solid and so are the raps over all
good song.
- Starts out Kurupt bragging on his partner in rhyme about his production skills. One of the best songs on the album
and might be my favorite. Sounds like they are dissing someone on this one and I’m pretty sure anybody that knows
about Daz he disses Death Row on a lot of songs and it isn’t any different on this one. Good song, diss songs usually
bring out the best in rappers and this one does. Great song to end this album.
- Pretty much the same as the intro, has the same beat and they are just talking back in forth.
Overall a real good album. It has a lot of tracks you don’t have to hit the skip button too much and its all gangsta shit.
The long awaited follow up to the classic Dogg Food this time under DPG cause Death Row owns the name Tha
Dogg Pound. So for all you people who like gangsta shit or Daz and Kurupt go get this one if you don’t have it already.
