Items scrounged from Ford`s parts bins and fed into factory assembly program included a Borg Warner close-ratio four-speed, 11-inch front disc brakes, larger drums at the rear, and special bracing under the hood. The motors were stock 271-horsepower/289-cubic-inch V-8s that received Shelby's recipe of cast aluminum valve covers. |
