"Hey, Soap Lady"

My name is Pam Seay and I am "Hey, Soap Lady". I stumbled into a hobby that is good clean fun!I work as an RN at Johnson County Public Health Department and I have always thought that it was a natural progression to make that leap from plugging hand washing, to producing my own bars of hand made soap.

I got started making soap purely by accident. It was a classic case of fate meeting opportunity when I received a soap supply catalog in the mail. How I got on that mailing list I will never know. As I glanced thru it, I found it very interesting and decided to learn more about the art and skill of making handmade soap.

After scouring the internet and purchasing all the books I could find on the subject, I felt I was ready to make the plunge and actually make my first batch. My family and friends tested out the soap and everyone loved it.

My dear friend and neighbor, Linda Lewis was my greatest support and human guinea pig. She would test a bar from every batch and give me encouragement and feedback. I was constantly bringing bars of soap over to her house. Linda started referring to me as the"Soap Lady". Everytime she would telephone me, she would say" Hey, Soap Lady what going on at your house".......and the rest is history. That moniker stuck and now my friends and customers greet me as "Hey, Soap Lady".

From that first fateful batch, my hobby began to grow and turned into a full-flegeded addiction!
