THE BURGESS FAMILY

We are a Christian, home-schooling family. We believe in raising our children in a wholesome environment that promotes learning and participation.   We enjoy living the quiet, country lifestyle.  The Lord led us to South Central Kentucky several years ago where we established Hidden Meadows Ranch.  Our main focus is raising all-natural grass-fed beef and lamb in accordance to the Creator's plan for them.  We believe in handling livestock in a respectful, humane manner.

Raymond is a retired, corporate accountant.  He works full-time at Hidden Meadows as the "CEO" (chief equipment operator) and the "brawn" behind the brains.  He loves his John Deere tractor and baling hay in the summer.  Ray is also a full-time professor at Eastern Kentucky University.  He teaches managerial accounting in the Business Department.

Heidi is a retired banker and accountant.  She is a full-time mother, teacher, and rancher.  She loves checking on the livestock every day and enjoys naming all the offspring.  Her favorite is the family Holstein cow, Miss Daisy.

Jessiah is in high school.  He is a Life rank in Boy Scouts of America.   He is an accomplished pianist and enjoys the violin.  He loves driving the ATV and motorcycle.  He is a true patriot and admires all the founding fathers for their adherence to divine principles.  He is the "CMS" (chief milking specialist) for our family.

Jacob loves camping and is a true scouter.   He plays the piano, violin and is teaching himself to play the guitar.  He loves every animal on the ranch and is learning how to train his pony, Twinkle, to drive an Amish cart.  He is the ranch "CAT" (chief animal trainer).  Jacob is quite the collector.  His favorite is his collection of knives.

Hannah is the joy of all our lives.  It is fortunate for us that she "knows everything".  She enjoys her Montessori school lessons and is learning to read.  She absolutely adores her puppy, Callie and riding her pony, Twinkle.  She is often found helping her dad drive the ATV or tractor and calling the cattle for their paddock rotation.  She is always the first to recommend prayer when we are experiencing a precarious situation.
