Ameican Fuzzy Lop

(OBTAINED FROM THE AFLRC WEBSITE)

The American Fuzzy Lop Rabbit was first presented to the ARBA in 1985. They were developed by breeding PURE Holland Lops carrying the angora gene. Due to the tight gene pool the Fuzzy Lop breed developed very rapidly. At the final presentation in 1988 the breed was already consistently "typey" and did not produce throwbacks so often seen in other new breeds. Since that time the breed has rapidly gained in popularity. The personality of the Fuzzy is very docile and even tempered. They are not only an excellent show breed but also make wonderful pets. Although the coat is long, when mature it should mat very little and require only weekly or bi-weekly brushing to stay in top show condition.
