The tank looks like it has already been blasted for painting since the rust is too evenly spread for it to have come through the paint. The chrome fuel cap and tank retainer need to be redone as they are quite rusty. The side panels are different colours but in good nick, rubber grommets are missing but that’s not a big deal. Mudguards, back one is ok although not sure if it is original paint, front one has been changed for a modern after-market aluminium one modified to fit the bike. So I need to see about getting a new mudguard or good second-hand one. The skid plate had a broken bracket which I’ve welded back on, I had to weld the other bracket and one of the spacers again as the welds broke while making some adjustments getting it to fit. Once bead blasted and primed a few blemishes appeared which has made me consider powder coating the side panels and tail light. |
