Bleadinghiser, dated May 16, 1944 "...Richard Carter was possessed with a
tract of land called 'Egypt' from 1754 to 1771, and a tract called 'Stony
Hill' from 1770 to 1771."

Indenture made January 7, 1775. Richard Carter, of Baltimore County,
Maryland, Carpenter, and James Boreing, of the same county, Millright,
conveyed to Elijah Merrymand, Gent., and Frances, his wife, a portion of
"Stoney Hill", inasmuch as Frances, wife of the said Elijah Merryman, was
one of the daughters and coheirs of John Ensor, deceased, and inasmuch as
John Ensor, Richard Carter, and James Boreing were seized in fee of land
called "Stoney Hill" which ahd been conveyed by a certain Richard Cole
and Mark Alexander. The conveyance to Elijah Merryman and Frances, his
wife, was made by petition of the daughters of John Ensor, deceased, and
included an undivided third. No wife of Richard Carter or James Boreing
waived dower.
