John Carter patented the tract of land called "Carter's Struggle" in
Baltimore County in 1774. Ref: Liber BC and GS no. 50 (or 51), folio
74, and BC and GS no. 48, folio 357, Land Office, Annapolis. Richard
Carter held "Carter's Struggle" (which his daughter later conveyed). He
inherited the property which accounted for the fact that the conveyance
is not recorded at the circuit court. (Researched by Harry Wright
