Virginia Caroline Pippin

I know almost nothing about Virginia Caroline outside of the census records. There is some discrepancy about her age. In the 1860 census, when she was still in Hill's household, it looks like she is shown as age 25, but that would mean she was born in 1835. This was probably a slip on someone's part; she should probably be shown as 35, born in 1825. She appears twice in the 1850 census. She is in Hill's household when it was enumerated on 1850-08-21 as ``Virginia'', and in the household of one Joseph Payne in District 71, Polk County, Missouri, when it was enumerated on 1850-10-18.

Per Dru L. Pippin

Caroline Pippin never married. Taught school in Hickory Co., Mo. and reported to have left valuable library at death.

``Virginia'' was penned in as a first name after the typescript had been created.
