The Devils Marbles are 200km north of Alice Springs. They are giant sandstone rocks that really do look like marbles that are balanced one on top of the other.

Over thousands of years some of the marbles have split - really weird.

The Daly Waters Hotel is 270km south of Katherine. It's at the end of a dead end road, about 5kms off of the main highway - there were hundreds of people in caravans and motorhomes queing up to spend the night there...in a field!The bar in the hotel is famous for displaying banknotes and underwear! No I didn't leave any of mine on the bar! They put on a show with dinner and the campsite fee thrown in for about 10 pounds. Had a great night there..a little bit hard getting up and out on the road in the morning.

The thermal pools at Mataranka are at a constant 34c - a fantastic pick-me-up after the night before at the Daly Waters Hotel!

The mineral content of the water is suposed to have a regenerative effect on the body - I think it worked, I certainly felt better after my dip.
