Fruit Bats hanging around waiting for sunset in a Katherine Park. They make a dreadful screeching sound when they are on the move - not to mention the smell!

Katherine Gorge is about 30km East of Katherine. It's a series of 13 seperate gorges. The scenery is just amazing. I took a four hour trip down the Katherine River.
There is a series of Aboriginal Rock Art on the cliffs of the gorge.

I'm now in Darwin - the 'Top End' as Australian's call it. Berry Springs are in the Litchfield National Park, about 40km south of Darwin. These are thermal springs, and the water is at a constant 34c. I spent a couple of hours just relaxing under the waterfall.

From the waterfall the warm, crystal clear water flows into a serries of three pools. The bottom one is the largest. During the 2nd World War the men stationed in Darwin used to come to the springs to cool down or just relax.
