Annapurna Base Camp Trekking
This trekking traverses a variety of terrain from lowland villages to the Glacier and offer beautiful high mountain views. This trekking also offers a fine opportunity to surround oneself with himalayan peaks without heaving to contend with the altitude and flight problems.
Annapurna Basecamp Trekking Itineraries
:
Day 01.
Kathmandu to Pokhara - Fly or drive to Pokhara 200 km and rest.
Day 02.
Pokhara to Tirkhedunga (1,577 m) - Drive to Naya Pul and then trek to Birethanti and follows the east bank of Bhurungi Khola and reaches to Tirkhekhunga.
Day 03.
Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,855 m) - The trail ascends to Ulleri village more pleasantly through Rhododendron forest, arrive at the top of Ghorepani pass and camp.
Day 04.
Ghorepani to Ghandrung (1,951 m) - Morning trek to pun hill to see sun rise views over to mountain then back to hotel after breakfast :- This area is the finest and most famous trekking area of Nepal. The Annapurna ranges and Machhapuchhre (fishtail) dominates the Mountain View through glimpses farther east to Lamjung Himal and the Manaslu range. The route towards chhomrong passes through a village and is rewarded with the most attractive scenarios of rural village life of the hills of Nepal.
Day 05
Ghandrung to Chhomrong (1,951 m) - Ghandrung offers good views of upper Modi valley. The route starts the long ascends high above the West Bank of Modi Khola. The Chhomorng village lies at the base of Himal Chuli (6,441 m).
Day 06
Chhomrong to Himalayan Hotel (2,873 m) - Forward to Kuldi Ghar for about 3hrs and from there the route goes down very steeply to a band of rock and then levels out, rounding through thickets of bamboo's at the bottom of the gorge, keeping always on the west side of the river. The pasture of Tomo is passed by, and then the very neck of the gorge at panchen Barah, where there is a small trail and a shrine. Then the trail climbs to Himalayan Hotel for camp.
Day 07
Himalayan Hotel to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m) - The trek remains on the west bank of Modi, now following through a more open valley and eventually emerges into the Sanctuary. Straight ahead is the high lateral Morain of the South Annapurna glacier and Modi follows the Machhapurchhre base camp and one can either camp here or continue to North- west, staying above the glacial moraine.
Day 08
Annapurna Base visit - On up the broad grally path referred to above for about one and half hours and then climb on to the lateral moraine and down the other the glacier is safe and quite easy and the British Expedition Base camp is reached after another one and hours and the camp is based at the elevation of 4,237 m. The trip is best done from the lower camp, Carrying only lunch and the best views are probably obtained from the crest of the moraine which may be followed until cut by the glacier following down from Himal Chuli to the north.
Day 09
Annapurna Base to Dovan - Descend and follow the same way to pleasant camp spot at Dovan.
Day 10
Dovan to New Bridge - The trail continues through Rhododendron and Bamboo forests then continues steeply up and to Kabre Chautara and soon after the trail to Landrung leaves the Gurung path dropping away towards the river.
Day 11
New Bridge to Dhampus(1,799 m) - Walk towards the easy way down to the Gurung village Landrung. And all the way down to Dhampus.
Day 12
Dhampus to Pokhara - All the way down to pokhara via phedi, then drive to pokhara and camp at Lake Side or rest at the Hotel.
Day 13
Pokhara to Kathmandu (Drive or fly).
