About Shastriji

Sri Shastriji is currently living in Indianapolis (Indiana) and served as Head Priest at The Hindu Temple of Central Indiana (HTCI), Indianapolis, IN, from September 2005 to August 2007. For the last 12 years, Shastriji has been performing several religious services all over U.S.A and Canada. Shastriji has expertise in performing many Hindu religious poojas and ceremonies (in all Indian traditions and languages) as listed in Services page of this website. In addition to poojas and samskaras, Shastriji can also perform several Yajnas, conduct special functions/ceremonies, Temple Kumbhabhishekas, Shanti path, Veda-Parayana and Vedic Astrological Services (Making - Matching & Reading). Also, Shastriji can teach several subjects such as Vedas, Upanishadas, Srimat Bhagvad Gita, Yagnas and Sanskrit Language.

Shastriji’s Background

Shastriji was born in a Vedic Priestly family at Pandharpur in Maharashtra, India. His Grandfather "Jyotishacharya" Sri Jagannath Shastriji was a well known Vedic Astrologer. His father "KaviRaj" Sri Sadashiv Shastriji was an Authorized Priest in the holy place Pandharpur, and was known as 'Kshetra Upadhyay'.

Shastriji has completed his school education with Sanskrit as major and further studied at the Veda Pathashala in Pune. In 1990, H.H. Kanchi Kamakoti Shankaracharya (Paramacharya) sent Shastriji to Varanasi for advanced studies where he has completed his  studies from Veda Brahma, Guru Sri Krishna Shastriji and Veda Brahma, Guru Sri Gajanan Shastriji. Under the exceptional guidance of these teachers, Shastriji has studied Yajurveda Kramanta, Shodasha Samskaras, Upanishadas and other Vedic Prayogas.

After completing Vedic studies, Shastriji has accepted a position as Veda Acharya in the Veda Shastra Vidyalaya in Pune and also in Veda Vedanga Vidyapeetham in Ahmednagar (Maharashtra, India). Shastriji has taken the leading role in performing Prana Pratishthapana, Kumbhabhishekams and Yajnas at several Temples in India & U.S.A.
