Welcome to Mutated Genes, a fanart site of various X-men universes. This site was created by me, hippietrekx, to display my art on the web late 2003. Since then it has grown to become a modest X-men banner and avatar database including my work and the work of others. This site also contains artwork of the X-men.
--Updates--
03/09/06-- I haven't forgotten. I have two new links to get up very soon. Also, one of my free file hosting accounts has closed. If you know of any free image hostings sites that allow direct/hot linking, please e-mail them to me. I'm sorry to say that as of now, all of my avatars and banners are invisible. I will try to fix this in the next two weeks. Please continue to use the submitted items, though. And submit stuff to me! Please?!
12/23/05-- This isn't thanksgiving, I know. The good news is that I got my randomness page set up and that I won Best Fanworks Site in the XSA last year. XSA round two is here, so go vote for me. Ok, for some bad news: my avatar maker seems to have disappeared from the face of the planet, so there aren't many random avatars and banners. Please submit stuff (X-men and random) over on the submit page. Just remember, MG is first and foremost an X-men fanart site (i.e. You'd make me super happy with X-men submissions, but randoms are okay, too.). I'm not sure when I'll have time to update again with science fair and school and naps and everything, but if I get submissions I will be motivated to update sooner (hint, hint).
10/31/05-- PyroSqurrel19 has given me two new avatars to post, and I made two avatars and two new banners. So, as promised my halloween updates are here. Really, the new banners and avatars are the only nw things... for now. I want to have a "random" page for banners and avatars not related to X-men here for thanksgiving. I'm already working on rounding up some Depp movie avatar makers and some other comic universes.
08/18/05-- I got those links up! There are six that range from adoptables, to fanfiction, to characters! Go look at them on the links page! As school starts in five days, I probably won't see y'all for a while, so I hope everyone has a nice end of summer and beginning of fall! And hey, don't fret, I hope to have some updates here before halloween! Hope to see you back here and using my avatars in the meanwhile!
08/11/05-- Welcome PyroSquirrel19 to the site! She's submitted some banners, go check 'em out. (And, go easy on her, they're her first attempts at bannering!) I also have been making *drumroll* animated banners and avatars! Go look at them. Tell me what you think about my art or the submitters' art in my guestbook, located at the bottom of the navigation bar. Expect a quick update next week with some new links. That may be my last update for a few months, because school will be starting again, but just remember... I never forget or abandon this site, just because I don't update for a while!
07/05/05--Ok, there are 5 new banners and 5 new avatars that I made. As you can see, the new layout has come through. Ok, it's just like the old one, but has a different character and color. I like it though. There are five new links on the links page: Cerebro Guide to the X-men, Betsy Braddock... Le Site, Southern Shadow, More Than Evolution, and The Freak Show. Go check 'em out. I spent a long time handpicking new, good sites you can exit my site with. Don't forget to sign my new guestbook. It's located on the bottom of the navagation bar.
