Composer Hirokazu HIRAISHI's BIO

Composer Hirokazu Hiraishi gained experience through his long years of working as an arranger, copyist, and studio conducter, mainly in the popular and commercial fields.
He has created a diverse range of compositions for orchestra, chamber ensemble and solo instrumentalists.

His electronic and computer music have come to be regarded as among the finest works of new music being composed in Japan today.

He recently has begun to develop a series of new collaborative performance pices in association with dancers and installation artists.

Mr.Hiraishi's unusual composistional technique is built upon a repetitive sequence of events, starting from a simple beginning and gradually becoming more complex.

Hiraishi has composed many pieces for computer, and has also receved two commissions from The Kronos Quartet and Wrtten numerous works for the acclaimed Japanese pianist Tomoko Yazawa.
