Sh’mot (Exodus)We see a picture here of Moshe as a type of Messiah. We see through the actions of HaShem and Moshe a shadow of things to come. Moshe was stretched out on a type of execution stake. The water was pierced by what may have been an invisible spear. When the invisible spear was taken away and the water receded we have a picture of death. Also Egyptian blood was mixed with the waters of the “Red” Sea. Blood mixed with water came out as the invisible spear was taken away. The Israelites were saved. When our Messiah was outstretched on the execution stake, he was pierced. When the spear was withdrawn water and blood came out. Those who believe in Him are eternally saved. Yochanan (John) 19:33-35 but coming to Yeshua, when they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs; but one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water. And he who has seen has borne witness, and his witness is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you also may believe. It does not matter that there was not an actual spear. It does not matter that some things were not exactly the same. It is and was only a shadow of things to come and another sign of who the Messiah would be. Yeshua would be the one who would come after Moshe and be like him. We all are called out to be like an image of His “unique only” son. Romans 8:29-30 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brothers; and whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. |

The reader will notice the vowels have been removed from the name of our L-rd G-d. This may be the first time the reader has experienced the use of this format. This is done out of respect and reverence for His Holy Name. We also use, in many cases, the Jewish names for Bible characters and terminology rather than their English equivalants.
