The chronology of the Second Coming of Y'shua:
1) It begins with fearful manifestations in the skies. (Mt. 24:29; Lk. 21:25,26)
2) In the midst of this, the heavens open and Y'shua comes forth. (Mt. 24:30; 2 Thess. 1:7; Rev 1:7; Rev 19:11)
3) The returning Messiah touches down upon the Mount of Olives, causing a great earthquake (Zech 14:4,8)
4) After touching down on the Mount of Olives, Y'shua proceeds to Petra and Bozrah, two chief cities in Edom. While it is impossible to be dogmatic here, it would seem that he goes to Edom to gather the hiding Israelite remnant. Accompanied by the holy angels, the church, and the remnant, Y'shua marches toward Armageddon (Isa 34:6; 63:1)
The purpose of the second coming of Y'shua:
1) To defeat the Anti-messiah and the world's nations assembled at Armageddon.
2) To regather, regenerate, and restore faithful Israel. (Isa 43:5,6; Jer. 24:6, Ezek 11:17; Ezek 36:28; Amos 9:14,15; Micah 7:18,19; Mt. 24:31; Zech 12:10-12, Rev 1:7)
3) To judge and punish faithless Israel (Rom 9:6; Rom 11:26)
4) To separate the sheep from the goats. (Matt 25:31-46)
This is not the "Great White throne judgment of Rev 20:11-15
This judgment is to judge how the gentiles who have survived the tribulation have treated Israel. (Gen 12:1-3)
5) To bind Satan, (Rev 20:1-3). (More on this in chapter 20.)
6) To resurrect Tanakh and tribulation believers. (Job 19:25,26; Ps 49:15; Isa. 25:8; Isa. 26:19, Dan. 12:2; Hosea 13:14; John 5:28, 29; Heb. 11:35; Rev 20:4,5)
7) To judge fallen angels. (1 Cor. 6:3)
Revelation 19:20-21 "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh." (KJV)
The (beast) Anti-Messiah and the False Prophet are thrown into the "Lake of Fire". They are the first 2 occupants of this eternal place of punishment.
The difference between "the Lake of Fire" and "Hell" (also known as Hades and Sheol): Hell is a temporary place for the unbelievers to go when they die. In chapter 20 we will see that the occupants of Hell are judged and then thrown into the Lake of Fire. It appears that the Lake of Fire has degrees of punishment. (More on this in chapter 20)
