WRITER/DIRECTOR EDDIE HOWELL
Writer and Director Eddie Howell was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. Having been a migrant farm worker, a veteran of the Vietnam War, and a lifetime educator has equipped Howell with many experiences to write about. Although several decades of work contributions have earned Howell a well-deserved retirement, this innate workaholic refuses to stop giving to the community he so truly cares about. An aspiration to share his creativity, experience, and life lessons inspired him to write, produce, and direct a series of educational videos entitled “Consejos De Mis Padres,” which are currently viewed in schools all over Texas. That was merely a glimpse into the creative genius that Howell is capable of. In wanting to increase the intensity of his message as well as the size of his audience, Howell wrote a powerful screenplay reflecting some of the events he and his family experienced as migrant farm workers. This incredible screenplay, Harvest of Redemption came into the hands of Austin actor and producer Laura Elysa Perez. She was so intrigued by the story, she passed it along to her law school colleague and friend, L.A. actor and producer Javier Chapa. Both Perez and Chapa, originally from the Rio Grande Valley, agreed this story could not escape the film audience and had to be made. This collboration marked the birth of Historia Entertainment. Howell is currently finishing the corresponding book version of Harvest of Redemption's screenplay entitled “Por Unos Helotes.”

EXECUTIVE/CREATIVE PRODUCER JAVIER CHAPA
Growing up on a ranch in San Manuel taught actor and producer Javier Chapa the key elements of hard work and survival. Although his roping skills earned awards and medals, Chapa’s true strengths are exhibited when he is working behind and in front of a camera. Chapa knew early on that he not only wanted to make films, but also wanted to have a competitive edge in the film industry. That desire inspired him to pursue a law degree at Saint Mary’s University in San Antonio where he met co-producer Perez. It was in their third year that Chapa and Perez both acquired representation by a talent agent in Austin, began acting in films and commercials, and collaborating script ideas. Chapa’s Texas A&M Marine Corps buddies would probably be surprised to find out what he is doing now, but they wouldn’t be surprised with his success. He has decorated his acting resume with appearances in several feature films, the most recent being a supporting role in Carlita’s Secret, starring Eva Longoria (The Young and the Restless). In addition, he received a showcase entry position in the 2002 Austin Film Festival with his writing and directorial debut Happy Hour. Chapa currently resides and works as an actor and producer in Los Angeles but frequently finds himself in the Rio Grande Valley sharing his expertise with Historia Entertainment.
