TOP STORY: Lorenzo D'Medici Abdicates Throne to Ferdinand I of Habsburg!
Vienna - Only a couple of years removed from the marriage of his daughter, Vittoria, to the Duke of Austria Ferdinand I, king Lorenzo D'Medici has decided to abdicate his title to his son in law Ferdinand. "The decision was not made lightly, I had many things to consider, my health being one of them. My father died because his job was a stressful yet important one, I did not wish the same thing on myself. I wish to see my grandchildren" commented the former King. The title was officially bestowed upon Ferdinand the day after Medici announced his decision, the Habsburg family officially gained control of the League with the coronation of King Ferdinand I. The event effectively ends over 4,000 years of Medici domination, Cosimo D'Medici the Doge of Venice said "It is a new era, the House of Medici is not losing its power, on the contrary a stronger royal family has emerged of both Medici and Habsburg, thus cementing the European Monarchy for centuries to come."

Europa Soldiers Routed At Falkirk!
Manchester - The small shire of Manchester was brutally assaulted by a giant brigade of Europa Rebels. The force which was comprised of one garrison of foot infantry (Legions) and another of Elephant Riders from Africa invaded from the Highlands of Scotland towards Manchester, where they were met by League forces in the fields of Falkirk. "The Rebels resisted bravely, but they were no match for our soldiers, after defeating one garrison of Pikers we rushed them and quickly divided their flanks, after that it was quite a simple task to dismantle their numbers" said General Balboa. This marks the second major Europa uprising in the past year. Currently there is no official actions called out agianst the Europa movement, King Ferdinand said "The Republicans are beginning to become a major factor in Adriatic affairs, hopefully they realize that they will be severly punished for their insolence."

Adriatic Fleet Discovers New Continent!
America - After years and years of travel over harsh, cold and biting Atlantic waves the fleet "Argos" landed on the coast of a new continent, which was named "America" after a captain by the name of Amerigo Vespucci. Currently there are plans to explore the continent and create settlements immedeatley, however no further information was disclosed by Royal officials. The captain of the fleet is Admiral Van Der Koss, a Dutch sea captain. The commander of ground forces is Corporal Napoleon Bonaparte of Corsica.

New Technologies to Improve the Lives of Europeans!
Venice - New methods of construction and bridge building have been developed, which if combined with existing methods of development, will create a more advanced and comfortable lifestyle for most Europeans. "The advent of these new technologies will help us build bridges over the Rhine and Danube rivers, as well as the numerous Russian rivers. This will enable better trade with our neighbors, which will result in a much more expedient exchange of knowledge and flow of ideas from one nation to the other" said Regent Montesqieu of France.

Tensions Mount in Tunisia!
Palermo - After King Victor Emmanuel of Sicily declared his entry into the Adriatic League, Imperial forces were dispatched to the coast of Africa to secure Sicilian claims in that region. "Any new member state has the rights of the old, if their claims are being disrespected we will see to it that this changes, the time of placating other nations if finished!" declared a livid King Ferdinand after hearing threats from the Mali king that he would invade Ireland. After the soldiers were dispatched to Tunisia, the Mali government issued a complaint, stating that this was in violation of an earlier land pact with the Adritaic League. News quickly spread throughout other African nations (Zulus, Israelies) and the issue was reaching a fevered pitch before an agreement was made. The deal, among other things, was comprised of a land agreement; the Mali would retain all rights to africa except for the lands within the vicinity of the Sicilian Kingdom (Palermo). According to inside sources some technology, maps and money may also have ben exchanged.

Mediterranean Pact Established!
Jerusalem - In response to the Eastern Coalition between China and Mongolia, the states of the Mediterranean (Israel and the Adriatic League) have formed a full military, trade, economic, developmental and scientific pact that will hopefully add luster and prestige to both nations. "Contrary to popular opinion this agreement was not created in direct response to the treaty between Mongolia and China. It was more or less signed as an imitation in order to help both of our nations develop qiucker. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and we were very positively reinforced by the agreement between the Asian states" said Regent William of Orange-Nassau. The pact was signed between former King Lorenzo D'Medici and Dimbleby the Wise of the Zionic Tribes of Israel in 225 B.C.

Embassy Established in Sudan!
Sudan - In 100 B.C. Leopold of Habsburg, a world renowned traveler and statesmen made first contact with the Zulu in the sub-saharan city of Sudan. As of right now, no official agreements or treaties other than a basic peace treaty has been signed with the Zulus. Leopold has held audience with Shakeem in the city of Tanzania but up to this point no information from this meeting has become available. Rumors have it that the issue in Tunisia with the Mali was discussed in a rather heated fashion.

Manchester marks the second Republican attack on a major Adriatic city in recent memory. If you would remember it was not long ago that Orsoni and Navarre were almost destroyed by Europa Rebels. Everytime the Monarchy grows stronger, the rebels are that much more intense in their cause, when Medici upheld the European Protection act the Republicans responded. When the Eurasian Land Summitt was held in Karakorum to discuss the spheres of influence in Eurasia the Rebels assaulted Orsoni and Navarre. In just the latest few activities, and final activities mind you, of King Lorenzo D'Medici the Europa Movement went full force at Manchester, seemingly attempting to establish an "Island Fortress" to invade Europe from. If you consider the three targets of the rebels; Manchester, Orsoni and Navarre, one notes that there seems to be some semblence of strategy to their apparently "random" assaults. The military strategy behind these assaults is indicative of divide and conquer as much as any type of assault can be, which hints that there could be some sort of professional leadership behind the Republican cause. With the recent activities in Africa, the Alliance with Israel and the discovery of a new continent combined with the overturn and combination of power between the Medici and Habsburg families, the Republican movement may become even more violent and even more sudden in its attacks. Is the recent rioting in Bosporus and Venice and indication that Republican sentiment and propoganda is taking its toll on the population? Only time shall tell, I believe Voltaire said it best; "Nothing is stronger than an idea who's time has come."
