"So Close" by Evanescence

Went shopping with D and Herb (w/o my parent's knowledge) on 23rd. Fun stuff. Ate at August Moon and had desert at this deli place. Got a kick ass belt buckle with dice on it and some thigh-high striped socks. Jean coat on sale at Three Monkeys. Put it on hold cuz I ran out of money. Made Herb try on a pink shirt with flowers on it. Oh shyeah, with D's sunglasses and all- that was hott. Went to sleep when I got home and didn't do any of the work I wanted to. Bwah.

Watched the beginning of The Guru last night. How interesting.

I was talking to this Sophomore on Friday who really likes Linkin Park. She said how Evanescence was a rip off of Linkin Park. I'm sorry, I just couldn't see it.

Eek! Look at the cool belly button rings! Their website lacks wang though. I desperately want to change mine, but I'm kinda nervous that I might screw something up. So Mom was gonna take me to the place where I got it pierced, but we haven't had time lately. Maybe I'll get my ears double pierced again.

The Saint Soundtrack

Watched The Saint last night. Shyeah, I still like it. Booyah, stick figure on his dashboard. I didn't like what they did with the music before the sex scene though. Bad.

Woke up this morning at 4:51 because my damn Hoobastank cd was skipping so I had to get up and change it. Didn't sleep until 6:15, and I had to wake up 15 mins later.

Ha! Maryanne, Ginny and I were talking in AP History about political parties and Maryanne was all "omigod! I should tell people I'm a Federalist!" and I replied "And I'll just say I'm from the Bull Moose party!" and we all cracked up. Ummm...yeah

Went out for some gelato with Herb today over by Powell's. Then went home and played video games. Tried to finish Okage, but the map was just too much. Final Fantasy IX was blah after awhile. He left a bit after 7.

I can't find the piano part on any of the songs on this soundtrack.

Ay, I miss playing the piano. I get very envious each time I see or hear about a young kick ass pianist and I hear a voice in my head that says "that could've been you." I guess so. I was so stupid to put my pride first. I should've practiced in front of my parents, even though they'd make me play some trite, trivial song over and over. It's seems silly how, only now, I can remember how much I actually enjoyed and cherished it. Maybe when I get into college, I'll take up the piano again.

Mimi saying "Your mom"

In the library. I should be researching John Updike's Rabbit, Run. But I'm not. I'm so researched out.

I was talking to Claire yesterday during Spanish class. She's one of the violinists for the orchestra. Claire was saying how at the last rehearsal they were being a bunch of music geeks. They were talking about the music and the pianist was all "yeah, it's just like having a waltz in 2/4!" and they all laughed. That was great. Wish I was there cuz I'd be booyah grandma! But Herb and I were cleaning out the orchestra pit, which is good too.

"In A Dream" by Rockell

Maryanne: Joyd! Joyd? Jade!
Me: Yeah?
Maryanne: Are you a democrat?
Me: No
Molly: Republican?
Me: no
Maryanne: Independant?
Me: Green Party
Maryanne: Wanna join our Democrat Club?
Me: But I'm not a Democrat...
Maryanne: No no...you see, it's like this. You're like a Democrat because you're so far left that you're green.
Me: ...okay, Maryanne.
Maryanne: See, we want a lot of diversity, so a Green Party member would be great!
Me: .....
Maryanne: And we have things in common! Like, we're against logging.

Typing & Chatter

Health class. Supposed to be looking for AIDS articles and reviewing them and stuff. Already found the articles. Don't really want to review them right now. It's do Friday anyways.

Holy mofo, I have so much homework. So, it looks like I can't work out after school. Damnit.

Sarah drew a picture of Siobhan in a dryer with us on top of it. Helen-kun drew Sarah's hair, since Sarah can't draw her own hair- and when she does, Helen's all like "faq!" but not. Anyhow, I'll put it up after I scan it. Maybe I should do it now.

Hehehehehe. Still wearing the floor bracelet from the Linkin Park concert. Some of the letters are starting to come off. It says

FOR YOUR SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF YOUR FELLOW GUESTS, THE ROSE QUARTER AND THE OREGON ARENA CORPORATION DOES NOT CONDONE

MOSHING OR BODYSURFING

PARTICIPATION IN THESE OR ANY OTHER DANGEROUS ACTIVITIES MAY RESULT
IN INJURIES AND EVICTION

THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION

It's hot pink. Herb's Mom was all "is that a hospital tag?" So was my mom.

I'm gonna go scan that pic.

"Boom Boom" by Chayanne

I love Nicholas Cage. Mmmm...

Student rehearsal + piano guy today. Got there around 10:50 with Herb and saw all the peeps waiting in the main hall. Apparently, the piano in PAC was being tuned, so no one was allowed in until 11:30. The piano guy started freaking out in his ness and asking the actors where they would be able to rehearse. Dude, the actors don't know. So Rich shows up around 11:10 and we watch a production of Kiss Me Kate in room 101 until 12. Go upstairs and stuff. Then Herb and I cleared out a majority of the orchestra pit. We just have to get those red things out of the way, really.

Figured tommorow I'd add "bert" after everything. Fun.

Watched the beginning of The Hot Chick on Starz. Umm...wtf? I didn't watch far enough to catch the plot though.

Meh. School tommorow.

Booyaka.

Just finished watching Raising Arizona with Mom. It was when Nicholas Cage and that other dude (forgot his name) weren't famous yet. Damn, he looked young. Ha, I love his hair in that movie. It's funny in the old movie way, but still really funny. It's on my favorites list now. Gotta watch it with Abby. She and I wouldn't be able to stop laughing and stuff. Man, I miss Abby.

"Extraordinary" by Liz Phair

I actually like this song.

I am very curious about the class outcomes of Doernbecher week. Even though the Sophomores raised a mondo-amount of money (i.e bringing $400 in pennies in an armored truck to rub it in our faces, but then again, paid an extra $400 for the armored truck...haha,) the other classes banded and supported us. The Seniors each brought in at least a dollar to put in the Sophomore jar and actually put pennies in our jar. The Freshmen...wow, they can be hostile...

Innocent Freshman: Are you a Sophomore?
Sophomore: Yeah...

And the Freshman sticks a 10 dollar bill in the Sophomores' jar.

You could tell the faculty really wasn't happy with the rivalries and allying between the classes. There's a rumor that they might stop the penny wars next year. Only a rumor. But probably not cuz this is really how we kicked Central's sorry ass!

Herb and I had dinner with my parents in Gresham with grandparents, Unky Jet and Auntie Ireen. Pansit! We had conversations about the letter C in the different Philippine dialects...and other things I don't remember. I fell asleep besides him while watching Monk with Auntie Ireen. Before we left, tried to "straighten" the carpet under the dining room table. Herb thought that hilarious.

Linkin Park concert was righteous. Met up with Jeff/Ashley, Nicole and Sam and waited with them in the floor line in the rain for an hour or so. Got to the stage after many many ticket checks and sat on the floor. Played Speed against Herb, who lost with one card. Pobrecita. Didn't play Egyptian Rat Screw because the floor was cement.

Story of the Year was meh. But a lot of people busted it over "Until the Day I Die," which is the only song I really like of theirs.

OMIGOD HOOBASTANK! He was so beautiful in every way, down to his bright green shirt. I went insane. Some chick got on some dude's shoulders and flashed him. Man, her breasts sucked. *pause* Sorry. Anyhow, then this one dude got on another dude's shoulders and flashed him, too. That was great.

Then P.O.D came along. I must admit, I concentrated more on the lasers and their set more then them. They sound much better in concert than on cd.

Of course, everyone went wild over Lincoln Park. It just kicked.

Shyeah, rehearsal today. I had no pit crew members with me at the beginning, so I had to do a ton of stuff. Let's see...helped Ben move his percussion equipment. Found out the elevator wasn't working. Ran to Pat, got keys, ran up to the PAC and unlocked. Brought the percussion stuff up to the PAC. Ran back down, our bass woman needed help. She was really mad with the elevator not working, so she lugged her huge ass instrument up the stairs with me carrying the 50 lb amp (forrealz). Found out the PAC closet was locked (Which was where all the chairs and stands and the director chair was stored) so I had to run back down to the auditorium to get the keys again. Ran back up, unlocked it. Jogged back down to the the first floor elevator to get my stuff. Ran into the harpist and her family and told them that the elevator wasn't working. They groaned. Made sure they were secure on bringing the harp up the stairs, then jogged back up to the PAC and opened the door for them. Found out she needs a certain stand that's in the orchestra pit. Ran to the pit, found the stand and ran back up. Trumpet player arrived a bit late. Grabbed a chair for him, then ran to the orchestra pit to get him a stand (we ran out.) Got one, then ran back up and realized he found one.

Yes, I really did run the whole time. That was my work out for the day.

Everything was much easier afterwards, when Herb handled the amp, Ben had his posse and Maggie and Megan took care of the chairs and stands.

And this is why I need a crew.

I'm bored. I should probably check my homework.

"Monochrome (Remix)" by Ayumi Hamasaki

Please come back!

Rich wants me to put together a "crew" to help move instruments before and after the rehearsals and shows. Anyone wanna volunteer? I have one person so far. Ha, poor Herb. Anyhow, I'll give you the rehearsal schedule. Some of them run really late.

He also wants me to draw a map of the school and point out where people can park. Dude, I don't know! I don't drive to school. I wouldn't know. He's also making me burn those evil MIDI file cds. Yes, they're soundtracks of Kiss Me Kate in MIDI form.

The Sophomores have won every dress-up day so far, and it's the Sophomores doing the check. Hmmm.

"How We Quit the Forest" by Rasputina

Ahahaha...the Sophomores are going down. Jimmy and Maryanne were score as Avril Lavigne today in the impersonation contest. You know it. It was so kick.

Jim gave the soccer chick and me a new exercise. Good stuff. One of us would do calf-raisers on the bottom of the stairwell and go up each step with the other leg while the other person would run to the top and back down. When we were finished with that stairwell, we went to the other. Hehe. Man, my calves are gonna be so sore tommorow.

Shyeah, opera thing didn't work out last night seeing it wasn't there. Mrs. Powell was amazed and very apologetic. She gave me twice as many hugs today. Ah well.

Dressed up as retro tinkerbell in relation to Helen as Peter Pan, Lindsay as Hook and Sarah as Emo-man. Oh shyeah. Everyone kept asking what I was, so then I kinda got tired of it and replied "a stripper." They were all "really?" "no, I'm retro tinkerbell." "...really?" "yes."

Let's see...Did a DBQ (Document Based Question) last night on Booker T. Washington and W.E.B Du Bois. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would've been.

Went to the library today to get the Kiss Me Kate soundtrack I put on hold. But I guess I really didn't, and it was the sheet music I saved. Blah. So, went over to their weak graphic novel section and found an interesting one. I finished reading it and I was all "wtf?" Shyeah, it's called Catch As Catch Can by Greg Cook.

nothing really

Rehearsal was a little nerve-racking at first. Rich told me to "spread some chairs around" while he went to his car to get his "director's chair." So the few adults, students and I patterned a vague formation of orchestra seats. Then more people arrived, including Mel with her huge ass harp, inquiring about where to sit. I didn't know where the fuck to put them. So, they kinda just loitered around. 30 mins later, Rich still isn't there. I was gonna go insane. But he appears, with his tall brown chair thingy. I help the 2 percussionists move their stuff to the PAC. One of them, Sam, goes back to PSU to get a really big one (starts with a T.) Ben, the other dude, advises me to wait for him just in case he gets lost. So I'm standing in the doorway of the "loading dock" and I see a police car pull over and stop him. I wait. Maybe he Jay walked or something. They start writing a ticket and I decide I should probably go see what going on. They thought he was stealing the drum. Yes, the huge ass drum we're rolling on the sidewalk in broad daylight. I almost cracked up laughing. They had to call in for "back up" to escort me back to the school to talk to Rich and prove that yes indeed, we needed the drum. Arrived at the PAC. People just stared, and then started laughing. Ben's eyes went wide. Later, he was all "yeah man, I was expecting him to tell me you got hit by a car or something." So they let Sam go, and we cracked up in the elevator. Good stuff.

Wow...everyone sounded absolutely amazing, especially since it's the first rehearsal. I know it's gonna be good. Didn't really bond with anyone, just stuck to the students and the percussionists. Sam and Ben are weird. Like, haha weird. I told Ben he should crossdress. Maggie and I figured that the rest of the time, we should rub it in. Ben forgot my name, and I wouldn't tell him. Ha, hhhhhlooozzzuh!

People keep on asking if I should take Tech 2 next year. So I'm trying to balance everything out.

Yes
- I love tech!
- Aaaahh...lights *convulses*
- Digging deeper into the wonders of tech.

No
- probably no more room for electives
- Senior year, will Tech 2 really be worth it?

Blah, I dunno.

Here's the pic of Pi-man I made sometime in June.

"Coffee and TV" by Blur

Went to set construction today. Got stabbed 3 times by a screwdriver. I knew the girl couldn't handle it. I was looking at the hole cuz it was really funky. I mean, it really looked like a puncture wound, with the starish shape and everything. When I washed my hands, I realized there was another stream of blood running down my hand from a nearby wound. "Wow, that's two times." Later, I realize that there's still blood on my hands and I'm not surprised to see another puncture on my pinkey. Good stuff. Copied all the music and manually hole punched it. Shiznit, that was nerve-racking. Don't know if there was sarcasm there.

Open Mic was spiff. Awww, I love Siobhan! I bet she was really nervous though. Whee, the dryer. Lindsay was kick. You know you want to poison the pidgeons. I'm in love with Roland from 3rd Man Out. Don't really know why. I don't have a reason. I doubt I am anyways. Tee hee.

Saw Butto. Yep, he was Butto. Mmm, cellphone.

So tired. I have orchestra rehearsal tommorow. Gotta work on that damn DBQ essay.

Sic Mofo 2004

"Deep In the Sweet Water" by Rasputina

Was reading Petshop of Horrors #3 and I found this amusing quote. "And then I saw this rhino, and he let me lick his horn..." Okay. Yeah, I'm dirty.

Sarah and I had our Sic Mofo 2004 on Tuesday. I had lost my bag of stuffness and after many school searches, realized it was at home. Sarah and I started home with 25 minutes to get there and return to our school. It was a long and hard journey.

Me: That was one sic mofo.
Sarah: Sic mofo?
Me: Sic mofo.
Sarah: What was a sic mofo?
Me: That.
Sarah: Okay, that was a sic mofo. What is that?
Me: The event.
Sarah: So, the event we just experienced was a sic mofo. Jade, an event cannot be a noun.
Me: Yes it can. It was a sic mofo. You know like "sick" without the k plus mofo.
Sarah: Okay, so this was Sic Mofo 2004?
Me & Sarah: *announcer voice* Sic Mofo 2004!
*pause*
Me: Shyeah.
*stoplight. watch a guy walking his dog. conversation about guys and dogs*
Me: That's a sic mofo.
Sarah: That should be the symbol of Sic Mofo 2004; a guy and his dog.

It was a pity because people didn't understand the bittersweetness of the Sic Mofo.

Recruited Totoro to play the clarinet for Kiss Me Kate. Rich dropped off the huge ass pile of paper I have to copy for the orchestra at the office yesterday. Pat's all "yeah, you're going to have to use the school printer." So, I get to be copying music during set construction. We're just cleaning out the orchestra pit anyways.

The Excuse Me Mr Fanlisting is finally up. I lost the Perfect Blue one though.
